interview made simple
In today's world every other person has faced an interview of some sort, having graduated from college a Candidate is in the race either in public or private sectors which have their own perks and pitfalls. So what will help me succeed or how can I overcome the fear, phobia of an interview.
The Question:
Q.Tell me about yourself.
You have almost waited most for 3 or 4yrs preparing for this day, and now you have to do it.
Having a calm and composed outlook with no sign of stress, and put your best foot forward for each and every answer, if nothing flashes to your mind, ask the interviewer for few seconds to recall or what you want to say. An honest answer will drive the trouble two miles away, keep your sentences short and should be understandable when articulated, avoid any kind of mumbling or sounding robotic.
Q.Should I divulge family details.
Unless the interviewer asks please do not, Candidates try to use their family details and academic details as fillers, the interviewer is not even 1% interested in your family genealogy.
Q.Resume.
There is no standard format for a resume, however presenting accomplishments and feats of academic and extracurricular activities is vital
A sample resume can be as follows.
Objective - Present your objective in a decent 2 sentences. not more than 50 to 70 words.
Technical skill - Your current expertise on programming or engineering subjects.
Project - A good project is were your involvement is maximum, avoid projects which you can't explain to the interviewer, make sure the team size, client, or company, duration are correctly mentioned.
What to wear?
A clean ironed shirt with dark trousers, with matching belt and boots(Men)
Anything not flashy, or heavy dresses to be avoided.(Women).
